If college basketball had a body, it would, depending on the angle, look like Brooklyn Decker or Kirstie Alley.

Ty Lawson, Blake Griffin, Hasheem Thabeet and James Harden all won the player of the year awards in their respective college basketball conferences last season. Then they all chose to forgo the remainder of their collegiate careers and enter for the NBA draft.

Freshman D.J. Richardson was not expecting to face an NBA star before official college basketball practices began. But last week, former Illini guard Deron Williams was in town, and Richardson and his new teammates refused to pass up the chance to scrimmage and workout with him.

In the last year, former Illini Deron Williams has been busy helping the United States win a gold medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games and giving the state of Utah its third consecutive NBA playoff appearance.

But among all that "Jazz," the All-American guard who led the Illini to a national runner-up finish in 2005 has still found time to give back to the community off the court.
