Champaign

  • A 20-year-old man, a 20-year-old Oak Forest man and a 21-year-old man were arrested on charges of controlled substance possession and throwing dangerous materials on the 200 block of East Green Street early Wednesday morning.

    According to a police report, the men were in possession of psychedelic mushrooms and were throwing items off a balcony. Notices to appear were issued.

  • A 20-year-old man and a 49-year-old woman reported criminal damage to property on the 200 block of East Chalmers Street Wednesday morning.

    According to a police report, an unknown suspect cut two tires on the victims' vehicle.

    No arrests had been made at the time of the report.

  • A 20-year-old Hickory Hills man was arrested on charges of theft on the 600 block of East Green Street early Wednesday morning.

    According to a police report, the man went into Jimmy John's, 41 E. Green St., and stole a soda. A notice to appear was issued.

  • A 20-year-old man and a 21-year-old man was arrested on charges of using fireworks on the 100 block of East Daniel Street early Wednesday morning.

    According to a police report, the two men were issued notices to appear for throwing fireworks off their balcony onto a passerby.

  • A 40-year-old homeless man was arrested on charges of intimidation and pedestrian under the influence of alcohol on the 700 block of South Sixth Street Wednesday evening.

    According to a police report, an officer stopped the man for walking in the roadway. The man threatened to shoot the officer and then attempted to walk away, later resisting an officer while being handcuffed.

Urbana

  • 48-year-old man reported theft under $300 on the 100 block of North Lynn Street on Wednesday afternoon.

    According to a police report, the man had an electric stove and gas dryer sitting on his front lawn for two months before someone removed it from his property without permission.

    No arrests had been made at the time of the report.

  • A 25-year-old man was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol on the 200 block of North Vine Street early Thursday morning.

    According to a police report, the man was stopped for speeding and could not produce proof of insurance. The man then openly admitted to leaving a bar and drinking alcohol. The man had bloodshot eyes and emanated strong odor of alcohol.

    The man also refused to complete any field sobriety tests.
