Over the past two weeks, thousands of supporters have rallied to put Raja Krishnamoorthi as Gov. Pat Quinn's running mate for the November ballot.

More than 10,000 signatures have been collected in support of Krishnamoorthi as the Democratic Party's nominee for Lt. Governor.

Organized by the Indo-American Democratic Organization, petition signatures were collected in person and online (http://www.petitiononline.com/Raja4LG/petition.html).

Pramod Shah, a former IADO President, stated that there is no time to waste in placing an Asian-American on the Democratic Party's statewide ticket.

The signed petitions are to be delivered to Governor Pat Quinn, House Speaker Michael Madigan, Senate President John Cullerton and members of the Democratic State Central Committee.

Krishnamoorthi is considered by the IADO community to be an expert on financial matters as well as an engineer who can help correct and improve infrastructure issues. Krishnamoorthi's support was shown previously when he won all six of the Chicago collar counties; DuPage, Lake, Kane, Kendall, McHenry and Will.

The Lt. Governor nominee will be appointed later this month by the 38 members of the Democratic State Central Committee.
