Benn, Ford 'probable' for Illini football
Arrelious Benn and Jason Ford left Saturday's opener in the first quarter and didn't return, but coach Ron Zook said in a teleconference both are "probable" for Saturday's game.
"I would say that neither are really as bad as we originally thought," Zook said. "I would say that both of them, right now, would be listed as probable right now. They're ankle sprains, they're not high ankle sprain, so Rejus (Benn) was in the office this morning doing toe raises on one foot."
Zook said that there was a question of Benn going back in the game, but the team took precaution in leaving him out.
He also said keeping running back Daniel Dufrene out of the contest was a last minute decision and the coaching staff originally thought he would play.
Encouraged about the news that the Illini star and running back should be able to go against Illinois State? Wish Benn or Dufrene would have tried to play? Leave your comments below.

so, we get back 2 players - the other 20 playing on saturday played with no heart. if our team's psyche is so fragile that losing one player during a game causes that to happen (what happened on saturday), there's really not a whole lot of hope then. just an all-around terrible game. no emotion, no heart, Mizzou totally had the upperhand in every situation. how could the game have been so lopsided? many questions to answer and i don't think we have the staff/personnel to answer them. rebuilding again.....and again.....and again....

While the illini were embarrassing in all phases of the game, most embarrassing was Martez Wilson, a joke at MLB. He completely disrespected the many all american illini linebackers that came before him. He does not hit, he does not hustle to the ball. He is an embarrassment and CLEARLY the main reason why Mizzou ran and appsed all over the Illini. If we don't get him off the field we're gonna get shellacked alot this year.
