It's been nearly a week since a snow storm dumped about six inches of snow on Champaign-Urbana, but even with a semi-heat wave (mid-30s!) this week, the slush and messy sidewalks are a reminder that winter will be here for a while.

That said, some students are embracing the snow and using it to get architecturally creative. Although the snow is powdery and not conducive to packing, a group managed to build a large igloo in the courtyard of the Siebel Center, near Springfield and Goodwin Avenues in Urbana.

Brett Daniel, a computer science graduate student, and a group of nine friends, built the igloo between Friday evening and Sunday morning. It reaches a height of nearly eight feet, and can fit at least 10 people inside. It's still attracting attention three days later, and people could be seen walking in and taking a look around inside Tuesday afternoon.

Take a look before the warmer weather melts it!
