The Illinois Student Senate may give select students $1,000 scholarships.On Wednesday, the senate will vote on a resolution which would create a sub-committee on scholarship to determine which students will receive these scholarships. The resolution calls for a total of $5,000 to be set aside for the fund.

The Urbana City Council unanimously approved an intergovernmental agreement with the University’s Board of Trustees concerning private-certified housing inspections through 2014 at their meeting Monday.
The goal of the inspections is to provide safe and educationally beneficial housing for students at the University, according to the memorandum.
