11:13 PM 11/1/2004 — When you watch sporting events on television, you always see somebody in the crowd holding a sign saying that they want a specific player or coach to run for president. This week, I had some sports issues on my mind so I decided to go along with the political motif for Election Tuesday.
Bower set to start Saturday
11:19 PM 11/1/2004 — Redshirt freshman Brad Bower is the definite starting quarterback for Saturday's game against Indiana. It was the same way last week, too.
In his second career start on Saturday, Bower led the offense to a touchdown on its first drive, but was unable to get anything going after that.

Men finish eighth at Championship
11:31 PM 11/1/2004 — The men's cross country team ran in the Big Ten Championship meet on Sunday, finishing in eighth place overall, improving on last year's ninth place finish.
The Big Ten Conference is one of the top cross-country conferences in the nation with five of the top 30 teams in the country.
Cyclones give hockey Halloween scare
11:36 PM 11/1/2004 — Junior forward Mike Roesch must have dressed up as Mighty Mouse this year, because he saved the day twice against archrival Iowa State this weekend.
Roesch led the Illini's third-period comeback charges both nights, scoring five goals and one assist in a pair of 4-2 wins.
'Hype' builds around intramural football
11:28 PM 11/1/2004 — It's a warm August afternoon in 2002 on the east side of Memorial Stadium. While the football team is having practice, there are five walk-ons on the sideline talking with each other and observing the football team.
Two years later, these five ex-walk-on players and four other players would combine to create the "Hype.
