While rumors surrounded the hiring of Zook all week, fans were relieved to hear the decision made official on Tuesday.

The Illinois women's wheelchair basketball team has won the last three National Women's Basketball Tournament Championships. Despite losing four starters from last year's team, it still opened this season seeded No. 1.
Women's basketball loses to Bradley
12:18 AM 12/8/2004 — Illinois came into this game on a high after beating Louisiana Tech, but left Assembly Hall with a bitter pill to swallow after losing to Bradley 70-67.
They had a terrible first half, only shooting 38 percent from the field and missing five three-point attempts.
Crutcher bursts onto scene
12:07 AM 12/8/2004 — When former Illini Cindy Dallas graduated, the women's basketball team was left with a big hole in the middle - but freshman forward Danyel Crutcher has shown she can fill the void.
Dallas led the Big Ten in rebounding for three years straight and is the Illini's all-time career leader in that category.
