Champaign

A 20-year-old man reported his residence had been burglarized Sunday afternoon.

According to a police report, an unknown victim entered the residence and took a laptop computer. There were no signs of forced entry.

No arrests had been made at the time of the report.

A 28-year-old woman and 18-year-old woman, both from Rantoul, Ill., were arrested for stealing merchandise from Wal-Mart Super Center, 2610 N. Prospect Ave., Sunday evening.

According to a police report, the suspects exited the store without paying for rings they had placed on their fingers.

A 18-year-old Chicago man was arrested for resisting an officer at Station 211, 211 E. Green St., Sunday night.

According to a police report, the subject also was arrested for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor and unlawful use of a driver's license.

A 49-year-old woman and 38-year-old man, both from Cartersville, Ill., were arrested at the 1900 block of Prospect Avenue Saturday afternoon.

According to a police report, the subjects purchased multiple boxes of pseudophedrine-based cold medicine at several stores on Prospect Avenue.

Both subjects were arrested when methamphetamines, methamphetamine precursors and drug paraphernalia were recovered from their vehicle.

A 38-year-old man and 26-year-old man were arrested for possession of a controlled substance at the 300 block of Prairie Street Saturday afternoon.

According to a police report, the police were investigating the suspicious subjects when marijuana was observed in plain view, belonging to one of the arrestees.

Further investigation revealed the second arrestee to be in possession of powder cocaine and a marijuana joint.

The first subject was released on a notice to appear in court, and the second subject was taken to jail.



Urbana

A 22-year-old man was arrested for criminal damage to a vehicle while parked outside an apartment building on the 700 block of Elm Street Sunday morning.

According to a police report, the victim previously dated the offender and suspected him of damaging her car and the door leading to her apartment building.

The victim also suspected the offender of stealing her bicycle.

A 28-year-old Marietta, Ga. woman reported theft of financial identity Sunday afternoon.

According to a police report, an unknown offender used the victim's name to open a telephone account.

No arrests had been made at the time of the report.

A 27-year-old woman reported criminal damage to property at her residence at the 1000 block of Lierman Avenue Saturday afternoon.

According to a police report, fellow residents in the victim's apartment used one of her lawn chairs to sit in and then broke it.
