Health and graduate fair comes to campus
11:41 PM 10/19/2005 — More than 120 representatives from colleges across the country will be at the University Thursday and Friday to attend the annual Health and Graduate School Fairs. The Health and Graduate School Fairs, sponsored by the Career Center, will begin Thursday with the Graduate School Fair and continue Friday with the Health School Fair.
If they build it, they will broadcast
11:15 PM 10/19/2005 — Rome may not have been built in a day, but the Urbana-Champaign Independent Media Center hopes it can build a radio station in a weekend. On Nov. 13, Urbana should get a new community radio station. WRFU will broadcast at 104.5 FM after a weekend-long, intensive building effort by over 200 volunteers from around the country.
Hurricane victims receive free quality online courses
11:14 PM 10/19/2005 — Students affected by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita have been looking for alternate places to continue their education. Sloan Semester, a program offered by the Sloan Consortium, is offering free online courses to these students to keep their education on track.
New system to enhance voting throughout Champaign county
11:08 AM 4/3/2007 — Every vote in Champaign county will count in the 2006 primary election. The city purchased a new voting system that detects ballots that have been filled out improperly. Voters will now be able to correct their mistakes. The city purchased the new voting equipment in response to the Help America Vote Act of 2002.

Police blotter
10:47 PM 10/19/2005 — Champaign A 39-year-old woman violated an order of protection at the 200 block of South Sixth Street on Tuesday. According to a police report, the suspect had an order of protection against a 30-year-old man. The suspect went to the man's residence and harassed him.
