    Champaign
  • A 49-year-old man was arrested for the residential burglary at the 1400 block of West Columbia Drive Saturday morning.

    According to a police report, the suspect was found with a stolen laptop and two MP3 players in his car during a traffic stop in Springfield, Ill. The subject was arrested and taken to the Champaign County Sheriff's Office.

  • A 34-year-old man was arrested on the 1100 block of Dorsey Drive for resisting and obstructing an officer, trespassing on state supported property and operating an uninsured motor vehicle with a suspended driver's license.

    According to a police report, the subject was stopped for a traffic violation. During the stop, the driver fled from the vehicle and was then arrested. Afterward, a warrant check showed he was banned from housing authority property and was also charged with trespassing.

  • A burglary occurred on Saturday morning in the apartment of a 20-year-old woman at the 400 block of East Green Street.

    According to a police report, the victim's purse and its contents were stolen from her apartment.

    No arrests had been made at the time of the report.

  • A 24-year-old woman was arrested for vehicular noise at the 300 block of East Green Street early Sunday Morning.

    Urbana

  • A 20-year-old woman was arrested Friday afternoon for retail theft from Family Dollar, 1506 N. Cunningham Ave.

    According to a police report, the subject took one two-liter bottle of Faygo soda and a plastic spoon.

  • Early Monday morning, a 19-year-old man was arrested at the 1000 block of South Lierman Avenue for illegal possession of alcohol.
  • A 24-year-old woman was found without a rabies tag for a dog in her apartment on Sunday evening on the 1000 block of Colorado Avenue.

    According to a police report, after the subject called the Urbana Fire Department for a kitchen fire, the dog was rescued from the apartment. The dog had no rabies tags and when asked by the apartment complex owner, the subject said the puppy did not belong to her. The dog was taken to the animal shelter.

    No arrests had been made at the time of the report.

  • A 38-year-old man reported property damage to his car on Sunday.

    According to a police report, an unknown suspect poured a substance on the car, causing damage to paint on the hood and fender, sometime in the past two weeks.

    No arrests had been made at the time of the report.

  • A 53-year-old woman was given a citation for disturbing the peace when her dogs barked incessantly for two hours early Sunday morning at the 400 block of Colorado Avenue.

    According to a police report, this is the offender's sixth notice to appear in court for the same violation.

    No arrests had been made at the time of the report.

    University

  • A 25-year-old man was arrested on charges of driving with a revoked license, obstruction of justice, unlawful use of registration and illegal transportation of alcohol after being stopped Friday evening at the 400 block of West Florida Avenue.

    According to a police report, the registration the driver presented belonged to a different car. He gave a false name when asked for identification and an open bottle of cognac was found in the car.

  • Police were called to Forbes Hall, 101 E. Gregory Dr., late Sunday night after an intoxicated St. Charles, Ill., man caused a disturbance.

    According to a police report, the 19-year-old was arrested on charges of aggravated battery to a police officer and resisting a police officer after he was released from Provena Covenant Medical Center, 1400 W. Park St., where he was taken for treatment.

    The officer said the man attempted to tackle him and kicked him in the chin while paramedics and police officers loaded him into the ambulance.

  • A 19-year-old Savoy, Ill., man ran from an officer who had seen him drinking from a Miller Lite bottle while walking at the 200 block of Armory Drive on Saturday night.

    According to a police report, the man was given an issue to appear in court on charges of resisting and obstructing justice as well as underage purchase and possession of alcohol.
