Students rally for Chief
12:35 AM 2/20/2007 — Clad in a Florida State University Seminoles sweatshirt and waving a bag of Big Chief Sugar, Joseph Trevan, a member of the Little River Band of Ottawa Indians, showed up to support the Chief at the rally on the Quad Monday night.
"(The Chief) is a student symbol," Trevan said.

Students fight for referendum to save Chief
12:20 AM 2/20/2007 — They had seven hours to get the paperwork and 3,000 signatures for a referendum to possibly overturn the Board of Trustees' decision to retire the Chief last Friday. But that fight was just not feasible according to Paul Schmitt, sophomore in LAS and president of Students for Chief Illiniwek.

Video games now available at Undergrad
12:04 AM 2/20/2007 — Students can check out more than just books at the undergraduate library, choosing from the extensive movie and film collection to electronic equipment. However, they can now take advantage of the library's latest installment - video games. Lisa Hinchliffe, head of the undergraduate library, said the library has consoles that cannot be checked out, including the PS3, original Nintendo and a Wii, which is on its way.

Employee charges Carle Clinic with racial discrimination
11:55 PM 2/19/2007 — Urbana resident Vilma Hascall has charged Carle Clinic Association with denying her a job because of her color and national origin. Hascall was born in Honduras and her first spoken language is Spanish. She worked as a receptionist for Carle Clinic Association for four years, where most of her work entailed interpreting for Spanish-speaking, low English proficient clients.

The Rape Aggression Defense program, or RAD, is a comprehensive course that teaches women defensive techniques against various types of assault.

Chancellor tightens regulations on Unofficial
12:36 AM 2/20/2007 — This March, celebrating Unofficial St. Patrick's Day by drinking before class could leave you with more than a hangover; you could also end up with a ticket home. Due to policies recently enacted by Chancellor Herman, showing up to class intoxicated or disrupting instruction in any way on Unofficial would now constitute grounds for dismissal from the University.
