Proposed Happy Hour laws could put restrictions on local bars

Champaign driver hits Parkland pedestrian
1:30 PM 3/22/2007 — A 20-year-old Naperville man was hit by a car after getting off a 22 Illini bus early Thursday morning at the intersection of Lincoln and Springfield avenues.
According to an Urbana Police report, the man's name is Patrick Newman. Linda Moore, vice president for student services at Parkland College, confirmed that the victim is a full-time student at Parkland this spring.

As of this moment, no investigations have been conducted. Sgt. Anthony Brown of the University police department said because spray chalk and stencils were used, no permanent damages have been made, thereby omitting any type of criminal investigation.

Study rankings affect funding

The study, conducted by Ginger Zhe Jin, assistant professor of economics at the University of Maryland, and Alex Whalley, assistant professor of economics at the University of California at Merced, contends that there is a relation between ranking and funding.
