Charles Chang was a student at Ohio State University when he founded the union. He said he started the organization in 1989 to facilitate Asian American self-empowerment, political power and networking possibilities.

According to a March 7 press release, Microsoft will donate a share of the program's advertising profits each time a participant has a conversation with Windows Live Messenger.

As of Monday morning, the fires north of Knoxville had burned 2,300 acres - more than three and half square miles, said Nathan Waters, a state assistant district forester.

Danville police make no arrests in deadly shootings
