Sophomore basketball player Jamar Smith's pretrial has been rescheduled to April 16 at 1:30 p.m. in Courtroom L of the Champaign County Courthouse, 101 E. Main St. in Urbana.
Smith faces felony charges of drunken driving and leaving the scene of an accident. He has already entered a not guilty plea on both charges.
The charges come after a Feb. 12 accident where Smith was driving under the influence with teammate Brian Carlwell in the passenger seat. After hitting a tree, Smith allegedly thought Carlwell was dead. He then drove back to his apartment with Carlwell unconscious in the car, where two witnesses called the police.
