But a Hawkeye extra inning walk-off home run spoiled Illinois' chances, as the team fell 7-6. The Illini (30-24, 7-8 Big Ten) weren't given a chance to rebound Sunday, as rain caused the game to be canceled.

Women's softball clobbers Bradley in a 5-0 victory
9:29 PM 1/14/2008 — Claire Devreese allowed two hits in seven shutout innings Thursday night in the Illinois softball team's 5-0 win against Bradley.
The Illini jumped in front early, scoring all five runs in the first two frames. Catcher Lana Armstrong clobbered a three-run home run in the first that would have reached Florida Avenue had it not hit a tree.

Putting four great years in perspective

Back then I was the newbie, the one who thought she knew what it meant to be an editor, and the one who had no idea what was to come in the next two years.
