Former QB Kittner recalls classic Michigan battles
12:38 AM 10/21/2007 — Kurt Kittner last lined up behind center for the Illini six years ago, but he remembers his Michigan games like they were yesterday.
Perhaps this Saturday night the Orange and Blue can erase memories of the previous Michigan nighttime home game and rekindle memories of the Illini's last victory against the Wolverines.

Column: Iowa loss exposes Illinois' deficiencies
10:47 PM 10/18/2007 — After watching Illinois get beaten by Iowa in about as ugly a loss as a team can have, there were a lot of questions that came into my head, and likely yours. Is this quarterback carousel going to continue, or is there going to be one who will play the entire game? If there is one definite quarterback, can he manage the game and throw effectively, avoiding costly mistakes? What did Iowa do that was so effective stopping our offense that Penn State and Wisconsin didn't? Why couldn't our defense get the Iowa offense off the field? It seems that a lot of little problems were nipping at Illinois in weeks past, but not all at the same time.

Position by position breakdown: Illinois vs. Michigan
10:56 PM 10/18/2007 — QUARTERBACKS With both teams having problems at quarterback, the position is up in the air again this week. Illinois' Juice Williams and Eddie McGee are superb running quarterbacks but have yet to establish themselves as consistent passing quarterbacks, especially under pressure.

Keys to the game: Illinois vs. Michigan
11:41 PM 10/18/2007 — Illinois Break out of the funk Illinois' passing offense has struggled this year and has yet to assert itself for too long of a stretch. If the Illini want to win against the Wolverines, they will have to be at least proficient enough to get Michigan's defense out of the box so that running back Rashard Mendenhall will have room to work with when Illinois runs.

Winner: Illinois 32, Michigan 28 Michigan State at #1 Ohio State Everything else I've read says it's generally safe to take a 17-point favorite playing at home.
