Illini drop the ball against Michigan
2:57 AM 10/22/2007 — In front of a national audience, Illinois dropped the ball - literally.
Tied 17-17 in the fourth quarter against No. 24 Michigan, the Illini looked to be in good shape, forcing Michigan to punt after a stop on third-and-16 to set up a potential go-ahead drive, but the Illini offense never got a chance to step onto the field.

Women's tennis shows promise at tourney
9:45 PM 10/21/2007 — The Illinois women's tennis team showcased its young talent this weekend as it concluded play at the 2007 Intercollegiate Tennis Association Midwest Regionals in Ann Arbor, Mich. The Illini failed to qualify any women for the ITA National Indoor Championships, but they certainly put up a fight.

Williams, McGee struggle to put up points
11:07 PM 10/21/2007 — The Illini quarterback shuffle continued Saturday night against Michigan. Juice Williams started the game and played the entire first half before Eddie McGee replaced him in the third quarter for a series.
Head coach Ron Zook switched quarterbacks four times in the second half but neither quarterback was able to mount a comeback late in the fourth quarter.

Swimming takes second place at Oakland, loses to Michigan State
9:44 PM 10/21/2007 — The Fighting Illini swimming and diving team finished up a busy weekend on Saturday, losing a heartbreaker to Michigan State, 157-141.
Junior Marissa Clapp led the Illini, winning the 100-meter and 200 breaststroke.
Sophomore Jen Ivarson secured her fourth victory of the tough weekend, taking the 200 butterfly.

Griese calls plays on final drive to lead Bears in win
11:16 PM 10/21/2007 — PHILADELPHIA - Pinned on the 3-yard line and out of timeouts, Chicago's final drive looked like a bust.
That was before the audio cut out on Brian Griese's helmet.
The only noise Griese heard was the sound of his own voice calling the plays, rallying the Bears and driving them 97 yards for the winning score in a 19-16 win over the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday night.

I've probably been watching football since I was about 8 years old or so and started really remembering games somewhere in junior high.

Zook's carousel of QBs is dizzying
11:53 PM 10/21/2007 — The Fighting Illini had plenty of problems on Saturday. Penalties gave the Michigan offense too many opportunities and Kyle Hudson's muffed punt return was simply brutal. But those things can't be changed now. It happened, let's move on and focus on Ball State.
