Soccer to battle two Michigan foes
1:12 AM 10/26/2007 — A week after being mathematically eliminated from winning the conference title, the Illinois soccer team will head to Michigan to gain position in the conference standings before the start of the Big Ten tournament.
The Illini (9-5-1, 4-3-1 Big Ten) open a pair of games against the Michigan schools Friday when they play the Wolverines (3-8-4, 1-4-3) followed by a match against the Michigan State Spartans (6-9-1, 1-7-0) on Sunday.

That season will begin on the road as the Illini travel to the state of Indiana to face Purdue and Indiana this weekend.

Hockey team continues undefeated record after Homecoming sweep
3:56 PM 10/28/2007 — Two third period goals, including Pat Saliba's career-first, allowed the Illinois hockey team to storm back and defeat No. 6 Lindenwood 4-3 on Saturday, completing a Homecoming weekend sweep of the Lions.
Power play goals proved crucial yet again, as each team netted two goals after penalties to begin the game.

Jason Nemeth scored his ninth goal of the season and the Illini made two crucial penalty kills to survive a tense third period and defeat Lindenwood 3-2.

Illini hit the road, come away with two victories
12:27 AM 10/28/2007 — While most teams expect to break even when playing on the road, that has not been the case for the Illinois volleyball team. The Illini traveled to the state of Indiana this weekend and have returned home with two more wins.
Illinois is now 6-6 in the Big Ten and 14-8 overall and is currently in a third-place tie with a Purdue team they defeated 3-0 on Friday night.
