Soccer moves to third in conference after two wins
11:08 PM 10/28/2007 — Needing a big lift in the final weekend of the regular season, the Illinois soccer team looked to the foot of senior Ella Masar to kick-start the offense.
She ended up booting the team to third place in the Big Ten.
The Illini (11-5-1, 6-3-1 Big Ten) won back-to-back away games to move ahead of Indiana in the conference after the Hoosiers dropped both of their games on the weekend.

Orange team wins annual scrimmage
11:55 PM 10/28/2007 — The Illinois basketball team took the court at Assembly Hall for its annual Orange and Blue scrimmage Sunday night in its first public pickup game since Illini Madness more than three weeks ago.
The Illini scrimmaged for four eight-minute periods, with the score being reset after each period.

Volleyball continues to have success on the road
10:34 PM 10/28/2007 — The Illini volleyball team doesn't settle for breaking even on the road.
After defeating Purdue and Indiana while away this weekend, Illinois holds a strong 6-1 record when playing away from Huff Hall.
"It's kind of an interesting phenomenon because we are 6-1 in a really tough conference on the road and we're almost a reversal at 0-5 at home," Illinois head coach Don Hardin said.

Hockey club slaps on two more wins
11:04 PM 10/28/2007 — The Illinois hockey club opened its conference schedule the right way on Homecoming Weekend, surviving two tense games to sweep the dangerous Lindenwood Lions.
Coming off a shootout victory against the Lions on the road, the Illini improved their perfect record to 9-0-0 with two more wins by scores of 3-2 on Friday and 4-3 on Saturday.

Illini achieve bowl eligibility for first time since 2001-02
6:59 PM 11/29/2007 — It's been six years since Illinois last made a bowl game appearance. But with a 28-17 victory Saturday against Ball State, the Illini picked up the sixth win that makes them bowl eligible.
For the seniors on the team, it's the first time they will possibly have an opportunity to keep playing in late December or early January.
