Students to protest Ga. combat school
11:11 PM 11/11/2007 — Lisa Pickert doesn't want her tax dollars used to fund the Western Hemisphere Institute for Security Cooperation, a combat training school for Latin American soldiers in Fort Benning, Ga.
The U.S.-funded institute, formerly known as the School of Americas, has graduated more than 60,000 soldiers since its establishment in 1946.

Chris Mazurek, a psychology professor at Columbia College in Columbia, Mo., graduated from the University in 1993 and went on to get his Ph.D. in psychology.

Bush marks Veterans Day in Texas; Cheney at Arlington
4:24 PM 11/12/2007 — WACO, Texas - Marking his fifth Veterans Day since the invasion of Iraq, President Bush honored U.S. troops past and present at a tearful ceremony Sunday for four Texans who died there.
The White House had said Bush was going to also use his Veterans Day speech to scold Congress for not sending him a veterans spending bill.

Tenant Union, student senate work to push back leases

Rice calls for end to state of emergency
11:12 PM 11/11/2007 — WASHINGTON - Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice urged Pakistan's military ruler, Sunday to lift the state of emergency as soon as possible, expressing concern Gen. Pervez Musharraf has not said when he would restore citizens' rights.
At the same time, Rice said it was a positive sign that Musharraf now has pledged to hold parliamentary elections by mid-January.

Instead, Donald Cesare is in the Erie County Prison on federal bank robbery charges stemming from a holdup Thursday at the First National Bank in Millcreek Township.

According to a police report, officers conducted a traffic stop for a stop sign violation. The offender lied to the officers about his identity.
