5:03 PM 11/12/2007 — After falling behind at the start of the game 9-4 and allowing the Huskies to stay within striking distance, the Illinois men's basketball team whimpered into halftime with a meager three-point lead, 22-19. It had been missing wide-open shots, contested shots and layups throughout the first half and had 10 turnovers while shooting just 29.

Women's soccer unable to come back against Purdue, losing semifinal match
11:36 PM 11/11/2007 — A day after the Illinois women's soccer pulled out its first come-from-behind victory of the season, the team fell far behind Purdue and could not recover.
The 3-0 loss is the Illini's second to Purdue on the season and knocked Illinois out of the Big Ten Tournament.

Illini swimming, diving team shakes up lineup, edges in-state rival

Head coach Sue Novitsky played with the lineup to give the Illini a different look. But the team fought hard under unfamiliar circumstances, winning 12 of 16 events.

Illinois beats two packs of Panthers
11:20 PM 11/11/2007 — The Illinois women's basketball team opened up its season with a double dose of Panthers. On Friday the Illini faced the Eastern Illinois Panthers followed by the Wisconsin-Milwaukee Panthers on Sunday. Illinois was able to tame both of them.
The team tested its new full-court pressure defense for the first time this weekend, while sophomore center Jenna Smith led the team with double-doubles in both games.

10:12 PM 11/11/2007 — Trent Hoerr has yet another accomplishment to add to his senior season running for the Fighting Illini men's cross country team. At Saturday's NCAA Midwest Regional in Peoria, Hoerr captured the individual title in the 10 kilometer race with a time of 29 minutes, 56 seconds.
