Illinois to face No. 22 Arizona in Windy City
11:35 PM 1/14/2008 — The United Center in Chicago will no doubt fill with orange when the Illinois men's basketball team (5-2) tips off against Arizona (5-2) at 11 a.m. on Saturday.
The Lexus "December to Remember" Classic, televised on ESPN, will see the No. 22 Wildcats take on Illinois for the first time since last December.

Men's basketball falls to Arizona in overtime
7:00 PM 12/8/2007 — CHICAGO -- The Illinois men's basketball team got its first dose of overtime at the United Center in Chicago on Saturday, losing 78-72 to the 22nd-ranked Arizona Wildcats at the Lexus "December to Remember" Classic.
The Illini, who led by as much as 13 in the first half, slowly surrendered their lead in the second half. Arizona never held the lead until the final minute of regulation, and never relinquished it in overtime.

Tim Gilbert and Alex Park pitched in with two goals each while freshman goaltender Nick Pecoraro denied the visitors any goals in the third period.

Hockey team ends semester undefeated
10:49 PM 12/8/2007 — Nine different Illini found the net and Nick Pecoraro made 23 saves as the Illinois hockey club wrapped up an undefeated first semester with another 11-1 rout of Illinois State Saturday night. Drew Heredia added a goal to his hat trick on Friday, while freshman forward Mark Price netted his first career goal.

Women's hoops heads to Chicago after defeat
10:15 PM 12/7/2007 — The Illini will try to erase their loss to No. 9 Oklahoma from their minds as they head to the United Center in Chicago on Saturday to play against Chicago State. The two teams will meet as a part of the annual Lexus "December to Remember" Classic.
Head coach Jolette Law believes her team will be ready for anything after having to compete against reigning AP Player of the Year Courtney Paris and the rest of the Sooners.

Players suspended for drug violations
12:25 AM 12/7/2007 — NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Jose Guillen and Jay Gibbons were suspended Thursday for the first 15 days of next season for violating baseball's drug policy, an indication how the sport might treat any players named in the Mitchell steroids investigation.
Guillen and Gibbons were accused in media reports of receiving human growth hormone after January 2005, when it was banned by baseball.
