Bjork put up 19 points against Indiana on Sunday afternoon - but it was the last two that put her in the Illinois record books.
In the final moments of the game, the junior guard sank two free throws to become the 21st player in school history to score 1,000 career points.

Gymnast Ruggeri proves self against nation's best
11:19 PM 2/10/2008 — Things went well for Paul Ruggeri this weekend, to say the least.
The freshman from Manilus, N.Y., was enjoying a great start to his time in Champaign, winning three event titles in his last two meets. But Ruggeri had what head coach Yoshi Hayasaki called "no question his best performance" when it may have mattered most on an individual basis.

Power plays help Illini hockey pick apart Eagles on the road
11:30 PM 2/10/2008 — In its final tuneup before next week's conference tournament, top-ranked Illinois remained undefeated and made quick work of No. 22 Robert Morris, winning 6-1 Friday and 5-2 Saturday in Bensenville, Ill. Team captain Drew Heredia and freshman Daniel Cohen led the way with three goals each in the series as the Illini improved to 29-0-0 on the year and a perfect 18-0-0 in Central States Collegiate Hockey League play.

Senior LaNeisha Waller and the distance medley relay team highlighted the meet for the Illini at the Meyo Invitational at Notre Dame.

Masheto breaks 500-meter collegiate record at weekend invite
10:30 PM 2/10/2008 — There promise to be more accolades in the near future for reigning Big Ten Track Athlete of the Week Lesiba Masheto. The junior broke the NCAA record in the 500 meters and was named the meet's top male athlete in a 96-team field at the New Balance Invitational.

Recruiting culture is becoming obsessive
11:27 PM 2/10/2008 — For those of us obsessed with all things college football, signing day is an oasis in the dried up desert that is the time between the end of the BCS Championship and the beginning of spring practices. While it's fun to engage in banter and bragging about how awesome the Zooker is at recruiting with my friends at other Big Ten schools, this year's coverage of signing day has shown me that we might be taking the recruiting process too far and we are changing the mindset of our young athletes.
