NORMAL, Ill. - Illinois State University police are investigating graffiti found in a dorm bathroom that references this month's shootings at Northern Illinois University.

Police say the graffiti was scrawled in black marker on a toilet-paper dispenser in Whitten Hall and reads "ISU is the next NIU."

Illinois State President Al Bowman said in an e-mail to students and faculty that there's no reason to believe the graffiti constitutes what he called a greater threat to campus security. He said, however, that campus police take it seriously.

University police say they were called to the dorm about 6:30 Wednesday night after someone found the graffiti.
