Champaign

  • RP Lumber, 403 N. County Fair Drive, reported criminal defacement of property Saturday evening.

    According to a police report, an unknown offender painted graffiti on the west exterior wall of the business.

    No arrests had been made at the time of the report.


  • A 20-year-old man reported burglary from a motor vehicle at the 200 block of South Fifth Street Sunday afternoon.

    According to a police report, an unknown offender broke a window of the victim's vehicle and stole a GPS system and money.

    No arrests had been made at the time of the report.


  • A 24-year-old man reported deceptive practices at the 1700 block of Anita Drive Saturday evening.

    According to a police report, a 43-year-old Monticello, Ill., man stole his identity and opened a fraudulent credit card account. The suspect has not been located.

    No arrests had been made at the time of the report.


  • A 34-year-old man reported residential burglary at the 500 block of Crescent Drive Sunday afternoon.

    According to a police report, the victim reported theft of prescription pain killers and other medication.

    No arrests had been made at the time of the report.


  • A 28-year-old woman reported theft at Highdive, 51 E. Main St., on March 27.

    According to a police report, a 20-year-old female suspect took the victim's driver's license from her vehicle and used it to attempt to get into the bar. The suspect was not let into the bar, and the ID was seized by security.

    No arrests had been made at the time of the report.


Urbana

  • A 24-year-old woman was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol at the 300 block of West Springfield Avenue early Sunday morning.

    According to a police report, the offender committed several driving violations and nearly hit two parked vehicles. When police stopped the offender, a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage could be detected from her breath. Offender's eyes were also glassy and bloodshot. Offender displayed significant signs of impairment and was arrested.


  • A 23-year-old man was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, leaving the scene of an accident and operating an uninsured motor vehicle at the 400 block of North Race Street, on Sunday morning.

    According to a police report, the offender was involved in a single vehicle crash and left the scene. The offender was located after the crash at his home and admitted to driving. The offender had a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage, slurred speed and blood shot eyes. The offender admitted to drinking and failed sobriety tests.


University

  • A female student reported theft at the Undergraduate Library, 1402 W. Gregory Drive, on Wednesday night.

    According to a police report, the victim left her backpack on a table while she went outside, and a witness told police that an unknown offender picked up the backpack and walked away. The backpack contained the victim's wallet with two credit cards that were later found being used to make unauthorized transactions at two area gas stations.

    No arrests had been made at the time of the report.


  • A staff member at Lincoln Avenue Residence Hall, 1005 S. Lincoln, reported theft sometime between March 20 and April 4.

    According to a police report, an unknown offender stole cash from the envelopes in her desk drawer.

    No arrests had been made at the time of the report.


  • A 19-year-old man was arrested for possession of a controlled substance at the intersection of Fourth Street and Gregory Drive early Monday morning.

    According to a police report, police were called to the construction site on a report of three men trespassing. The offender was arrested after a consent search, his backpack containing cannabis and drug equipment.


  • A 21-year-old man was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol at the intersection of Fifth and Daniel streets early Friday morning.

    According to a police report, the offender was stopped after he nearly struck a squad car while turning onto Daniel Street.


  • A 19-year-old man was arrested for trespassing on a state-supported land and cited for illegal consumption of liquor and possession a fraudulent ID at Memorial Stadium, 200 E. Kirby Ave.

    According to a police report, police were called to Memorial Stadium on a report of several people trespassing. Police found five men playing Frisbee on the field and two women sitting in the stands. The offenders attempted to flee when police arrive but were apprehended. The offender was arrested after he was found in possession of a fraudulent driver's license in his name.
