Champaign Police plan to conduct a training for the Special Weapons and Tactics team Thursday at 2007 Round Barn Road, between Mattis Avenue and County Fair Drive northwest of Campustown.

The department has asked residents not be alarmed of the training scenarios meant to prepare the team for potential situations if they see officers around the area between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Questions and concerns can be directed to Sgt. Jim Clark at (217) 351-4545.
