Champaign

  • The Twilight Lounge, 120 N. Neil St., was cited for over occupation by the Champaign Fire Department May 9.

    According to a police report, the 23-year-old male manager on duty was cited for the violation after firefighters counted too many occupants in the establishment.


  • Four watches were stolen from a home at the 900 block of Goldenview drive Thursday afternoon.

    According to a police report, the house was left locked that morning. A daughter found the back patio door open and the jewelry missing that afternoon. No damage was done to the door.

    No arrests had been made at the time of the report.


Urbana
  • A 15-year-old girl was issued a citation for operating a vehicle without a license at the 1800 block of James Cherry drive Friday evening.

    According to a police report, other passengers fled from the vehicle and were later contacted.

    The girl was dropped off to a parent.


  • A 21-year-old woman was arrested for stealing a bike several months ago Saturday afternoon.

    According to a police report, the bike was taken from in front of a Champaign bar and was kept in the offender's apartment.

    The owner of the bike is not known.


  • A 31-year-old man was issued a notice to appear for allowing two dogs to run at large at the 900 block of North Broadway avenue Saturday afternoon.

    According to a police report, the man was watching the pit bulls while the owner was out of town. He allowed the dogs to get loose and they chased people on the street and sidewalk.


  • A 28-year-old man was arrested for theft at Todd and John's Tavern, 118 W. Water St., early Sunday morning.

    According to a police report, the offender was a former employee of the business. A witness saw him go behind the counter, open the cash register and remove paper currency.

    The bartender later confirmed that money was missing from the register.


  • A dog was found at the 1500 block of North Broadway avenue Sunday morning.

    According to a police report, the dog was brought to Champaign County Animal Control and left in their care. The owner of the dog was unknown and no arrests had been made at the time of the report.

  • A 24-year-old man was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and cannabis during a traffic stop Sunday evening.

    According to a police report, officers pulled the car over because the front registration plate was improperly displayed in the front window and the driver was cited.

    The offender was the passenger and was arrested after police found suspected cannabis and pills believed to be Vicodin and Ecstasy in his pants pocket.


  • An unknown offender burglarized a Division of intercollegiate Athletics storage room at Huff Hall, 1206 S. Fourth St., Friday before 5 p.m.

    According to a police report, the ventilation panel on a door has been kicked out.

    The offender broke into three storage lockers, but it was not clear whether anything had been stolen.

    No arrests had been made at the time of the report.
