Champaign


  • A 29-year-old man was arrested on an in-state warrant at the intersection of Church and Russell streets Saturday morning.

    According to a police report, the driver was speeding and officers stopped him after noting the speed on a radar tool.

  • A 48-year-old man reported damage to property at the 600 block of north Elm Street Tuesday afternoon.

    According to a police report, an unknown offender damaged the driver-side door handle on the victim's car.

    No arrests had been made at the time of the report.

  • A 49-year-old woman reported burglary from her vehicle at the 2900 block of Crossing Court Tuesday afternoon.

    According to a police report, the car was parked in a lot and left unlocked. When the woman returned, her purse and its contents were gone.

    No arrests had been made at the time of the report.

  • A 47-year-old man was arrested at the intersection of Bloomington Road and Prospect Avenue Saturday afternoon.

    According to a police report, the vehicle the offender was driving was stopped for a traffic violation. The driver was arrested on a warrant for his arrest for trespassing. He was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and cannabis and transporting liquor in his vehicle.


Urbana


  • A 37-year-old woman reported illegal dumping on her property at the 800 block of North Coler. According to a police report, an unknown offender dumped bags of trash onto her property.

    No arrests had been made at the time of the report.

  • A 21-year-old man was arrested at the 100 block of South Cottage Grove.

    According to a police report, the offender was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, improper parking on a roadway, driving without a license and registering over the limit for alcohol.

  • A 37-year-old woman reported criminal damage to her property.

    According to a police report, an unknown offender slashed four tires on the victim's vehicle. No arrests had been made at the time of the report.

  • A 22-year-old man was arrested on an in-state warrant at the intersection of Broadway and Park Street.

    According to a police report, the offender was charged with driving with a suspended or revoked driver's license.


University


  • Avis Rent a Car in Savoy reported a 30-year-old male University student failed to return a car by the agreed-upon date. According to a police report, the offender rented a 2007 Chevrolet Impala on March 28 and failed to return it by April 24. Attempts to contact the offender failed and the phone number he provided was disconnected.

    No arrests had been made at the time of the report.

  • A female employee of LEX Express reported theft at Willard Airport in Savoy.

    According to a police report, the woman left her bag outside a terminal when unloading passengers. When she returned to the site after forgetting the bag, it was gone and later discovered on Airport Road with all of its contents except for $60.

    No arrests had been made at the time of the report.

  • A University staff member reported a stolen cell phone and cash at 208 N. Wright St.

    According to a police report, a bag was left in an unlocked office at the Micro and Nanotechnology Lab between 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

    No arrests had been made at the time of the report.

  • A man reported a stolen cell phone at Meijer or Buffalo Wild Wings in Champaign.

    According to a police report, the owner of the phone lost it at one of the two locations around 11 p.m. The man called his phone and an unknown woman answered.

    No arrests had been made at the time of the report.
