Champaign

  • A 47-year-old Rantoul woman was arrested for retail theft at the 900 block of south Neil Street Saturday.

    According to a police report, the offender concealed a scrapbook and stamps in her purse before employees caught her and recovered the merchandise. The offender was issued a notice to appear.


  • A burglary was reported at the 1000 block of west Bradley Avenue Saturday.

    According to a police report, an unknown suspect broke a window on the south side of the house to enter the building. Electronic equipment was taken from the living room. The suspect put it in a suitcase and then left the premises pulling the suitcase.

    No arrests had been made at the time of the report.


  • A burglary was reported from two motor vehicles at the 2600 block of Wellington Drive Friday morning.

    According to a police report, an unknown suspect stole property from two parked vehicles.

    No arrests had been made at the time of the report.


  • Burglary and theft were reported at the 4500 block of Stonebridge Sunday morning.

    According to a police report, an unknown subject gained entry into the victim's garage and house by using the garage door opener. The suspect stole an unlocked 2008 black Dodge Avenger with its keys in the ignition. Other items stolen included golf clubs, credit cards, jewelry and IDs.

    No arrests had been made at the time of the report.


Urbana

  • Theft was reported at the 300 block of south Broadway Avenue Sunday afternoon.

    According to a police report, an unknown offender stole a set of keys to the Lincoln Square Village Mall from a lock box.

    No arrests had been made at the time of the report.


  • A 20-year-old woman was charged with purchase, possession and consumption of liquor by a minor at the 600 block of north Cunningham Avenue Saturday night.

    According to a police report, the police were in midst of a bar check when they observed the offender in the beer garden with a bottle of beer. The underage woman admitted to consuming the alcohol and was issued a city notice to appear.


  • University

    • Two 22-year-old men were arrested for possession of cannabis at 50 Gregory Drive Thursday.

      According to a police report, an officer on patrol stopped when a man was behaving suspiciously near a car. After receiving consent to search the vehicle, police discovered a blunt on the driver's seat and a plastic bag with cannabis residue was found near the passenger side door. Police also confiscated a butterfly knife and $10 cash that were in the car.

      One of the men was also given a no-trespass letter, banning him from campus.


    • A 33-year-old man was arrested for possession of drugs near the intersection of St. Mary's Road and Wright Street Thursday.

      According to a police report, the vehicle had been stopped for speeding and suspected drug residue was discovered in his pocket. Police also cited the offender for driving without a valid license and he was given a warning citation for speeding.
