Weather causes LEX Illini Express van to tip
4:38 PM 6/9/2008 — A LEX Illini Express van tipped over during a storm South of Matteson, Illinois during strong storms Saturday.
The van, carrying two passengers at the time of the accident, pulled over to the side of the road due to strong rain, said Robert Frazier, President of LEX Illini Express.

Urbana City Council to revisit cell phone ban

The Committee of the Whole will be looking at drafting an ordinance that would fine any person who gets into an accident while operating a cell phone.

12:17 AM 6/9/2008 — CHICAGO - Residents of Chicago's southern suburbs spent Sunday cleaning up from a series of tornadoes that pelted the region this weekend, while bracing for another round of severe weather.
The National Weather Service said a sprawling storm system generated six separate tornadoes in Chicago's southern suburbs on Saturday, tearing off the roofs from homes, knocking down power lines and overturning semitrailers.

Tim Davlin, a Democrat who has had friendly relations with the governor, argued the transfer would hit Springfield the same way a mine closing would harm southern Illinois or a factory closing would affect Rockford.

12:27 AM 6/9/2008 — Champaign Police recovered a stolen vehicle at the 2100 block of Melrose Friday morning. According to a report, the car was stolen from a rental lot in Franklin Park, Ill., during the month of February. No arrests had been made at the time of the report. A 52-year-old woman reported damage to her property at the 1500 block of Kiler.
