In Richton Park, about 35 miles south of downtown Chicago, three businesses damaged by a tornado Saturday were not yet able to reopen and about 40 people were displaced from an apartment complex, said Regan Stockstell, the city's director of community development.

Woman pleads guilty to killing pregnant woman and three children
11:53 PM 6/9/2008 — BELLEVILLE, Ill. - A woman pleaded guilty Monday to killing her pregnant friend, the unborn child and the victim's three children in a plea deal that allowed her to avoid the death penalty.
Tiffany Hall, 26, pleaded guilty to all five charges against her - four counts of murder and one count of intentional homicide in the death of the fetus - and was sentenced to life in prison without parole.

Damage costs unknown after storms hit Indiana University
12:24 AM 6/10/2008 — As more hard rain and flooding devastated much of Central Indiana, Indiana University officials are still uncertain about the extent of the damage caused by last week's flash floods on campus. The rapid gush of water washed out the Indiana University football field and provoked power outages, flooded buildings and temporarily closed off major roadways on and around campus.
