  • Wal-Mart Super Center, 2610 N. Prospect Ave., reported burglary Monday evening.

    According to a police report, an 11-year-old boy took a pair of shorts and lotion from the store without paying.

  • A 27-year-old man reported his bike had been stolen at the 2200 block of west Springfield Avenue late Monday night.

    According to a police report, the bicycle is a men's 26 inch giant Recon mountain bike.

    No arrests had been made at the time of the report.

  • A 39-year-old man was cited for being in possession of alcohol on public property at the intersection of Sixth and Green streets Tuesday afternoon.

    According to a police report, an officer observed the man in possession of a can of beer.

  • A 38-year-old man and a 33-year-old man were cited for fighting at the 2100 block of Rodney Drive Sunday afternoon.

    According to a police report, officers located the two men, who listed the same address, after a fight was reported. Both were issued notices to appear.

  • A 19-year-old man reported burglary from his vehicle at the 1400 block of east Bradley Avenue Saturday afternoon.

    According to a police report, the vehicle was left parked in the victim's driveway with the driver's side door unlocked. An unknown suspect stole an in-dash car stereo/CD player and a subwoofer in a plexiglass box from the vehicle around 2 a.m.

    No arrests had been made at the time of the report.

  • A 30-year-old woman was arrested for disorderly conduct at the 1300 block of Hedge Drive Tuesday afternoon.

    According to a police report, the offender threatened to batter another 31-year-old woman as she ran down the street after the victim.

  • A 42-year-old man was battered at the 400 block of Edgebrook Drive early Wednesday morning.

    According to a police report, the victim was going to his car to go to work when he was confronted by three men who asked him for money. When the man pulled out his pockets to show them he had none, one of the subjects punched him in the mouth. The three men then ran away.

    No arrests had been made at the time of the report.

  • Urbana


    • The driver and passenger fled from a vehicle at the 800 block of north Goodwin Avenue Tuesday morning after police attempted to make a traffic stop.

      According to a police report, a semi-automatic pistol was recovered along the path the vehicle was fleeing.

      No arrests had been made at the time of the report and the identification of the driver and passenger were both unknown.

    • A 51-year-old man was arrested for trespassing at Scottswood Manor Apartments, 1557 Hunter St., Tuesday morning.

      According to a police report, the man was told to leave the property by staff and officers. He was informed that he would be placed on the trespass list and would be arrested if he returned.

      The man returned and was taken to jail.

    • A 43-year-old man reported forgery at the 1500 block of east Washington street.

      According to a police report, the victim believes his economic stimulus check was forged and cashed by an unknown offender. The victim is incarcerated.

      No arrests had been made at the time of the report.

    • Public indecency was reported at the Urbana Free Library, 210 W. Green St., Tuesday afternoon.

      According to a police report, an unknown offender was observed masturbating in the young adult section of the library by a witness.

      No arrests had been made at the time of the report.

    • A 36-year-old man reported identity theft Tuesday afternoon.

      According to a police report, an unknown offender used the victim's identity to obtain employment at several places in northern Illinois and New Jersey.

      The man has been told he owes federal taxes for this employment and he is declared "disabled."

      No arrests had been made at the time of the report.

    • A 25-year-old woman was arrested Tuesday evening at her residence at the 1100 block of south Philo Road on a charge of theft.

      According to a police report, she kept a rental for more than a month after it was due to be returned to Avis Budget Group at Willard Airport. It was scheduled to be returned on May 12.
