Champaign

  • A 38-year-old woman was arrested for violating the Illinois Vehicle Code at the 2900 block of Blair Drive early Monday morning.

    According to a police report, the woman was driving without insurance and her drivers license had been suspended or revoked.

  • A 31-year-old man was arrested for several violations of the Illinois Vehicle Code at the 1500 block of north Neil Street early Monday morning.

    According to a police report, the man did not signal while yielding, was not wearing a seat belt and was driving with a suspended or revoked drivers license.

  • A 17-year-old boy was arrested for driving with a vehicle with expired registration at the intersection of Hedge Road and Hollyhill Drive Sunday afternoon.

    According to a police report, the boy did not have a valid drivers license or insurance for the vehicle.

  • A 37-year-old man reported on June 17 that his identity had been forged in January of 2006.

    According to a police report, the man received a notice that he owed a large amount of money on an outstanding account with a cell phone company. The account was opened in Florida.

    No arrests had been made at the time of the report.

  • A 36-year-old was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol after an accident at the 200 block of north Randolph street.

    According to a police report, the man was also cited for improper lane usage. The report listed that city property had been involved in the accident. Other non-vehicular property was also damaged.

    No specific victim was listed.

  • A 23-year-old man was issued a citation for possession of alcohol on public property and resisting or obstructing an officer at the intersection of Hedge Road and Hedge Court Sunday afternoon.

    According to a police report, the man was walking in the roadway drinking brandy. When he saw the officer, he threw the bottle on the ground and would not tell officers his name.

  • A 41-year-old man was cited for stealing a shopping cart from Save-A-Lot, 220 N. Broadway Ave., Tuesday morning.

    According to a police report, an officer observed the man pushing the cart in the roadway from the store. He did not have the store's permission to possess the cart.

  • A 27-year-old Camargo, Ill. man was issued a citation for violating a city ordinance at the 900 block of south Oak street Tuesday afternoon.

    According to a police report, the subject dumped waste water and carpet cleaning solution in a storm drain at Daniel and Oak streets.

Urbana

  • A 21-year-old man was arrested for being in possession of cannabis at the 1200 block of east Harding Drive Tuesday afternoon.

    According to a police report, the man was a passenger in a car that officers approached after running the license plate and finding the owner had an outstanding city warrant. Officers located the cannabis in the passenger-side door.

    The driver was arrested on the warrant.

  • An unknown offender sent a letter making vague threats to the Urbana School District Tuesday.

    According to a police report, the letter was delivered to Urbana Middle School and the contents included "religious ramblings."

    No arrests had been made at the time of the report.

  • A 22-year-old man was arrested on two outstanding city warrants at the 1400 block of west Beech street early Wednesday morning.

    According to a police report, officers responded to a report of a possible burglary in progress. The officers made contact with the occupants of the residence and found one was wanted for two warrants.

  • A 25-year-old man was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol at the intersection of Washington and Vine streets late Tuesday night.

    According to a police report, the offender was observed screeching his vehicle tires while making a turn onto a public roadway. Officers conducted a traffic stop and the offender struck a curb while pulling over to the side of the road.

    The offender admitted to drinking before driving and had a slight odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath. He showed signs of impairment on pre-exit and field sobriety tests.

University

  • A University food service worker was arrested at the Lincoln Avenue Residence Halls, 1005 S. Lincoln Ave., Tuesday evening.

    According to a police report, police were called to the residence hall to make the arrests on an outstanding warrant.

  • Theft was reported from a University employee's vehicle at 510 E. Daniel St. Monday afternoon.

    According to a police report, items valued at almost $2,200 were stolen including a Canon Rebel digital camera and case, an iPod Nano and six pairs of sunglasses.

    No arrests had been made at the time of the report.

  • Damage to a University employee's vehicle was reported in a parking lot near the Central Stores and Receiving Building, 1609 S. Oak St., June 18.

    According to a police report, there were three large scratches on the sides of the vehicle affecting the paint.

    No arrests had been made at the time of the report.
