Champaign

  • A 24-year-old man and a 28-year-old man were arrested at the 200 block of Anthony Drive on Thursday night.

    According to a police report, they were arrested on warrants and one was given a notice to appear for possession of cannabis.


  • An 18-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman were arrested on the 500 block of Grove Street on Friday night.

    According to a police report, officers responded to a report of gambling, and the subjects attempted to flee the scene. The 18-year-old man was arrested for trespassing on state supported land, and the 34-year-old man was arrested for obstructing an officer.


  • A 20-year-old woman reported theft at the 600 block of east Daniel Street on Thursday afternoon.

    According to a police report, an unknown suspect took the woman's purse and used her credit card.

    No arrests had been made at the time of the report.


  • A 34-year-old woman reported damage to her vehicle Friday morning.

    According to the police report, one auto part and accessory right front fender were damaged by an unknown offender.

    No arrests had been made at the time of the report.


  • A 30-year-old woman reported theft at the 400 block of West Washington Street on Friday afternoon.

    According to a police report, an unknown offender stole her bicycle.

    No arrests had been made at the time of the report.


  • A 25-year-old woman was arrested for burglary at Macy's, 2000 N. Neil St., on Friday afternoon.

    According to the police report, the suspect attempted to conceal items and leave the store without paying.


  • An 18-year-old man was arrested at Wal-Mart, 2610 N. Prospect Ave., on Friday afternoon.

    According to a police report, the suspect took computer software and exited the store without paying for the merchandise.


  • A 17-year-old boy was arrested at the 100 block of Green Street on Friday night.

    According to a police report, a notice to appear was issued to the suspect for possession of cannabis.


  • A 22-year-old man was arrested at the 200 block of Bradley Avenue on Friday afternoon.

    According to the police report, the suspect was found riding a skateboard in the roadway and was issued a city notice to appear.


Urbana

  • Identity theft was reported at the 1100 block of Willard Street on Saturday afternoon.

    According to a police report, a 28-year-old St. Paul, Minn. man attempted to use a 48-year-old woman's name and personal information to buy a car on credit.

    No arrests had been made at the time of the report.


  • Retail theft was reported at Schnucks, 200 N. Vine St., on Saturday afternoon.

    According to a police report, a 27-year-old woman concealed chicken breasts in her purse and walked past all points of purchase without attempting to pay for them. She was stopped by store personnel and arrested by Urbana police.


  • Possession of stolen property was reported at Mach 1, 1701 Philo Road, on Saturday night.

    According to a police report, a 65-year-old man attempted to cash in a stolen lottery ticket. Police seized the ticket and issued the man a state notice to appear.


  • Burglary from a motor vehicle was reported at the 1600 block of East Florida Avenue on Saturday morning.

    According to a police report, an unknown offender entered a 21-year-old man's unlocked vehicle and stole his wallet.

    No arrests had been made at the time of the report.


  • Mob action, aggravated battery and theft were reported at the 1100 block of North Goodwin Avenue early Saturday morning.

    According to a police report, a 30-year-old woman was attacked by several unknown offenders. The woman's gold rope necklace with an antique charm was taken in the attack. She was later treated at a hospital.

    No arrests had been made at the time of the report.


University

  • A 19-year-old man was issued a city notice to appear on the charge of an illegal purchase and possession of alcohol by a minor on Thursday night.

    According to the police report, he was issued the notice after he became involved in a fight on the 700 block of South Fifth Street, Champaign.


  • A 19-year-old man was arrested on charges of resisting and obstructing police and illegal consumption of liquor by a minor early Friday morning.

    According to the police report, the officer found the man urinating in an alley on the 600 block of East Daniel Street.
