Randle eager for flight, new league in Israel
4:14 PM 8/28/2008 — Brian Randle stayed awake as long as he could Tuesday night.
The miles passed on his drive from Champaign to Peoria - roughly 90 of them - after a final round of "goodbyes," and " see you laters" went down around campus.
The former Illini was thinking about his 14-hour flight from O'Hare to Israel, with an expected layover in London's Heathrow Airport.

No excuse for Bears' preseason struggles
10:12 PM 8/27/2008 — LAKE FOREST, Ill. - Leave it to Mike Brown to deliver one of the bigger hits from the Chicago Bears recently.
While the slate gets wiped clean following Thursday's preseason finale at Cleveland, Brown made no effort to hide his concern after watching the defense fall flat against San Francisco in a 37-30 loss last week.
