An e-mail, with the sender posing as Chancellor Richard Herman, sent to students' CITES accounts Monday is a "prank," said Robin Kaler, associate chancellor for public affairs.

This e-mail, received by students at various times Monday night, warns students interested in participating in greek rush. It states that the greek culture "degrades campus life."

This e-mail was initially sent out Friday, but to a smaller amount of students.

"Obviously we don't appreciate someone posing as the chancellor and confusing people with this e-mail," Kaler said.
