Crime alert issued for attempted robbery and aggravated battery

Champaign Police are seeking information about an attempted robbery and aggravated battery that occurred at the 600 block of East Healey Street on Saturday night.

According to the crime alert e-mail sent on Wednesday, two women were walking near the intersection of Healey and Sixth streets. The victims said two male suspects commented on robbing them, and then one woman was struck in the head. The victims were able to run away. Nothing was stolen.

One suspect was described as a black male in his 20s, about 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing about 165 pounds, with a shaved head, brown eyes, and wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with a white symbol on the front and black jeans. The other suspect was described as a black or Hispanic male, also in his 20s, about 6 feet tall, weighing about 170 pounds, with black hair, brown eyes and wearing black baggy clothing.
