Mike Frerichs will formally announce that he will seek re-election to the Illinois State Senate on Nov. 4 with a district wide tour starting in Danville.

Mike Frerichs is currently serving his first term after being elected in 2006 to represent the people of Champaign and Vermilion County.

The tour will begin with a rally at noon in Temple Plaza in Danville, Illinois, where Frerichs was endorsed by Barack Obama four years ago. The tour will end in Champaign at 5:30 pm with a rally on the fourth floor of the Illinois Terminal in the South Banquet Room. Illinois Terminal will host an open house for Frerichs' new campaign office on the 2nd floor following the rally.

Frerichs fought for education funding reform and supported an increase in state support for schools. He is a chairman of the Agriculture and Conservation Committee and fought to strengthen the local rural economy and protect family farmers during his time in the legislature.
