Illinois women's soccer beats Michigan State

The Illinois women's soccer team defeated Michigan State 3-0 Friday night in Champaign, Ill.

The Illini scored midway through a physical, evenly-matched first half on a Marissa Mykines goal. Emily Zurrer and Chichi Nweke added goals in the second half off of corner kicks as Illinois pulled away.

Goalie Alexandra Kapicka had three saves as the Illini extended their home winning streak to 12 games and improved to 8-4 overall, 2-1 in the Big Ten.
